Creation and development of a new manganese mine on the Okouma plateau in Moanda
In Gabon, Sogea-Satom has been entrusted with the creation and development of an industrial unit on the Okouma plateau, which will increase manganese production by 7 million tonnes per year. The new site will make the country the world’s leading producer of this mineral, and will generate more than 5,500 direct and indirect jobs in the region.
More than 350 people have been trained locally as part of this major project, which includes the construction of an 18 km power network and an 8 km sewerage system.
